Consumer Loan Officer

NW Priority Credit Union currently has a full-time Consumer Loan Officer position available for our Southeast Portland Location.

Responsibilities:

  • Process consumer loans and refer other products such as investment services.
  • Performs lending functions in conformance with established credit union policies and procedures.
  • Authorizes the approval of loans within the policies and guidelines established by the credit union.
  • Responsible for complying with all laws, statutes, rules and regulations which govern the credit union, including but not limited to all components of the Bank Secrecy Act provisions of the US Patriot Act.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to represent the Credit Union professionally and positively to members and to interact daily with staff and management.
  • Basic knowledge of mortgage and consumer laws and the procedures required to maintain compliance with those laws.
  • Basic knowledge of credit union policies, credit granting criteria, interest rates and how they are computed and the documentation necessary for each loan type offered.
  • Ability to be certified through NMLS.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in dealing with the membership and staff.
  • Experience with Mortgage Lending is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • One year consumer loan experience required.

Branch Loan Officer/MSR

NW Priority Credit Union currently has a full-time Loan Officer/MSR position available for our Downtown Portland Location.

Responsibilities:

  • Process Consumer loans and refer other products such as investment services.
  • Recognizes members’ needs to proactively open, maintain and update all Personal, Business, Trust, Deceased and other special accounts.
  • Processes all types of monetary/non-monetary transactions within established limits to prevent fraud and losses.
  • Maintains and balances assigned cash drawer daily and follows security procedures.
  • Provides operational support including vault transactions, branch security and opening and closing the branch.
  • Researches and resolves member inquiries and completes appropriate documents and refers them to Accounting/Card Services Department for assistance when necessary.
  • Responsible for complying with all laws, statutes, rules and regulations which govern the credit union, including but not limited to all components of the Bank Secrecy Act provisions of the US Patriot Act.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to represent the Credit Union with a high level of integrity and professionalism to members and to interact daily with staff and management.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in dealing with the membership and staff.
  • Ability to be certified through NMLS.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications:

  • One year or more experience in processing consumer loans and opening new accounts.
  • One year or more cash handling required.

Member Service Representative

NW Priority Credit Union currently has a full-time Member Service Representative position available for our Main Office branch in SE Portland.

Responsibilities:

  • Processes all types of monetary/non-monetary transactions within established limits to prevent fraud and losses.
  • Maintains and balances assigned cash drawer daily and follows security procedures.
  • Recognizes members’ needs to proactively open, maintain and update personal accounts and refer members to other products such as loans and investment services.
  • Provides routine information on credit union services, policies, membership eligibility, types of credit union accounts, inquiries regarding account balance, status and history.
  • Responsible for complying with all laws, statutes, rules and regulations which govern the credit union, including but not limited to all components of the Bank Secrecy Act provisions of the US Patriot Act.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to represent the Credit Union with a high level of integrity and professionalism to members and to interact daily with staff and management.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in dealing with the membership and staff.
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-year MSR/Teller experience in a financial institution preferred.
  • Cash handling/Customer Service/Retail experience required.
