Director of Lending

NW Priority Credit Union is currently seeking a Director of Lending to work at our Main Office in SE Portland. The Director of Lending will be responsible for the overall operations of the Lending Department consistent with the Credit Union’s policies and procedures. Responsible for growth and compliance of the loan portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs and monitors centralized lending operations for the entire credit union, ensuring goals and objectives are met with respect to lending.
  • Assist senior management with the development of lending policies and procedures. Leads activity related to new product development and strategy.
  • Ensures that all loan personnel are properly informed and trained on new regulatory developments impacting lending policies.
  • Monitors individual development and job performance of loan personnel to ensure the quality of work and service to members. Recommends promotions, transfers, terminations and/or other changes of status of loan department staff. 
  • Performs all duties and tasks associated with the Credit Union’s lending function. Reviews loans for approval within policy guidelines.  Approves loans within assigned guidelines and authority and disburses funds.  Additional responsibilities include: staff organization and scheduling, ensures loan processing and productivity standards and verifies the consistency of paperwork (loan files).
  • Reviews loans to ensure consistency with Credit Union’s policies and governmental regulations.
  • Provide information on marketing promotions in order to effectively offer all Credit Union products and services, utilizing the Credit Union refer program.
  • Provide multiple performance related loan department reports.
  • Maintains loan forms and compliance issues including data processing.
  • Attends meetings and training sessions to enhance and improve performance.
  • Participates with the board of directors and the management team in the strategic planning process for the Credit Union.
  • Acts as a resource to answer difficult questions and solve complex problems for members and staff. Follows up on details to resolve matters to the satisfaction of all parties.
  • Attends and participates in management team meetings. Provides input and suggestions to management team and supports other team members to facilitate management decisions.
  • Interviews and assists members with their particular financial situation. Counsels loan applicants regarding solutions to financial problems and loan feasibility.
  • Sets an example for all loan department staff (i.e. cross selling and member relation skills, punctuality, professionalism, etc.).
  • Keeps loan department appearance neat and organized; arranges or does housekeeping as needed.
  • Assist with risk management and collection activities of the credit union.
  • Ability to be certified through NMLS.
  • Continually upholds the Credit Union’s values.
  • Assists in other areas of the Credit Union in times of need.
  • Communicates Credit Union uniqueness and philosophy.
  • Accomplish special projects and other duties as directed by the President/CEO.
  • Responsible for complying with all laws, statutes, rules and regulations which govern the credit union, including but not limited to all components of the Bank Secrecy Act provisions of the US Patriot Act.

Qualifications:

  • S. /B.A. degree preferred. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in consumer lending/real estate and collections in a strategic management capacity required, preferably with a credit union.  Experience with loan pricing and portfolio management.
  • Fiserv/XP2 experience preferred.

CONSUMER LOAN OFFICER

NW Priority Credit Union has a full-time Consumer Loan Officer position available for our Main Office.
Working hours: Monday – Friday | 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
Location: 12630 SE Division St., Portland, OR 97236

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Our member-facing position answers questions and assists members in applying for loans. Prepares loan documentation and enters into computer. Underwrites, approves and closes loans.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Interviews loan applicants by gathering the required information for credit applications, explaining loan options, rates, terms and collateral requirements.
  • Answers routine member inquiries regarding account balances, payment amounts, status or history. Gives Blue Book information upon request.
  • Obtains credit reports when required, verifies debts, calculates monthly payments, calculates debt ratio, verifies income, determines collateral needs and verifies insurance coverage for each applicant.
  • Approves loans to a predetermined loan limit. Refers loans over the predetermined limit to designated individuals.
  • Prepares and verifies loan documents, including notes, security agreements, payroll deduction authorization and vehicle title forms have been accurately completed.
  • Prepares disbursement checks.

Qualifications: Minimum of one-year prior loan interviewing or loan processing experience required.

Marketing Specialist

NW Priority Credit Union currently has a full-time Marketing Specialist position available at our Main Branch.

We are looking for a professional individual with an outgoing personality to assist in business social media and marketing efforts for the credit union. The candidate will assist the VP of Marketing in implementing the Marketing Plan along with strategies that drive business towards NW Priority Credit Union.

Working hours: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm

  • Strong familiarity with the business applications of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Yelp, Instagram, etc.)
  • Generate, edit, publish & share content daily.
  • Monitor and enhance engagement on all Credit Union’s Social Media Sites
  • Make sure content is branded correctly, relevant to the credit union and market-specific content.
  • Analyze monthly social engagement analytics and ad performance on all platforms.
  • Knowledge of major social media sites and digital trends required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with members, potential members & staff.
  • Assist the Vice President of Marketing with the continued growth of the credit union.
  • Assist the Vice President of Marketing with daily activities of the credit union.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills while having the ability to work under deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience navigating and using PC and Windows-based software (Microsoft Office, Adobe).
  • Respond to social media and electronic reviews daily.
  • Keep staff informed on all credit union promotions and events.
  • Researches competitive products by identifying and evaluating product characteristics, market share, pricing, and advertising; maintaining research databases.
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate.
  • Coordinates Youth Program. Duties include but are not limited to: purchasing supplies, inventory, working with the VP of Marketing, planning youth events, communicating with young members, attending all events and always looking for new ideas to keep the program relevant in today’s fast-paced marketplace.
  • Maintains communication with staff and board on promotions, events or new products through a weekly update, events calendar and distribution of new marketing pieces.
  • Must be capable of representing NWPCU with positive professionalism with an eagerness to deliver excellent service to all members and potential new members.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of relevant business social and digital media marketing required. Credit union or financial experience preferred.
