Consumer Loan Officer, Vancouver Branch Manager & MSR - Main Office

NW Priority Credit Union currently has a full-time Consumer Loan Officer position available for our Main Office.

Working hours: Monday – Friday | 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
Location: 12630 SE Division St., Portland, OR 97236

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Answers questions regarding credit union policies and assists members in applying for loans. Prepares loan documentation and enters into computer. Approves and closes loans.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs lending functions in conformance with established credit union policies and procedures. Interviews loan applicants in person, by telephone and e-mail, gathering required information for credit applications, explaining loan options, rates, terms and collateral requirements.
  • Provides routine information on credit union loan services, types of loans available, eligibility requirements, rates, terms and collateral requirements. Provides financial counseling.
  • Recognizes members' needs for various services and cross-sells credit union services when appropriate or refers members to the appropriate department when necessary.
  • Answers routine member inquiries regarding account balances, payment amounts, status or history. Gives Blue Book information upon request.
  • Obtains credit reports when required, verifies debts, calculates monthly payments, calculates debt ratio, verifies income, determines collateral needs and verifies insurance coverage for each applicant.
  • Approves loans to a predetermined loan limit. Refers loans over the predetermined limit to designated individuals.
  • Prepares loan documents, including notes, security agreements, payroll deduction authorization, vehicle title forms, etc. Verifies that all documents have been accurately completed. Prepares disbursement checks.

Minimum Job Requirements: One-year prior loan interviewing or loan processing experience required.

The Member Service Representative position is a key role at NWPCU, your performance is critical to our overall success of the credit union. You will join a team of dynamic and outgoing employees who strive to provide superior service and administer precise transactions, while complying with policies, procedures and regulatory financial requirements. Working hours: Monday - Friday 8:45am – 5:45pm

  • Performs monetary transactions (Deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments)
  • Verifies negotiable items and member identification
  • Maintains and balances assigned cash drawer daily
  • Recognizes members’ needs to proactively open, maintain and update personal accounts
  • Refer members to other services for loan and investment services

This position requires a diploma/GED and a reliable past employment performance as a teller or two years retail. Computer basics and phone etiquette, along with excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

NW Priority Credit Union is currently seeking a Branch Manager at our Vancouver, WA location. The Branch Manager coordinates and supervises branch functions to provide quality service to members.

The responsibilities of the Branch Manager position include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day branch operations, including supervision of staff
  • Process consumer loans
  • Open new accounts
  • All aspects of member service including processing teller transactions.
  • Cross-service and provide information on credit union products and services, answer questions regarding credit union policies and procedures.
  • Coaching staff to provide appropriate financial products and services to the membership.

The successful candidate will promote positive member relations by defining member needs along with excellent member service and communication.

Possess a high level of knowledge and experience with operations, regulation compliance and proper cash controls.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with current and potential SEG groups and across all departments within the credit union. Have the ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. When needed, must be able to travel to other branch locations within the Portland metro area.

Qualifications Include:

Minimum of two years as a Branch Manager in a credit union or other financial institution.

Knowledge of consumer loan policy, credit granting criteria, interest rate computations and loan documentation necessary for each type of loan, is required.
Successful completion of high school diploma course work or equivalent.
