Electronic Services Supervisor, Collections Representative, Checking/IRA Specialist and Milwaukie Branch Loan Officer/Member Service Representative

Electronic Services Supervisor

NW Priority Credit Union currently has a full-time Electronic Services Supervisor position available. This position provides support to the CFO and supervises/assists the Electronic Services Department.

Working hours: Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 5:30pm
Location: 12630 SE Division St., Portland, OR 97236

Some of the duties include, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for evaluating the team performance, for fostering professional development to the extent possible and for ensuring department staff have access to appropriate resources enabling them to perform their expected duties and responsibilities.
  • Provide positive leadership for department employees.
  • Assist CFO with developing, implementing and maintaining credit union internal controls.
  • Oversee the operations of ACH, plastics, share draft and electronic banking services.
  • Establish, evaluate and maintain departmental operations to effectively accomplish the department and organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Assist CFO with overseeing and implementing automated financial processing systems which support the operational functions of the department.
  • Problem solve with respect to certain general ledger accounts and personnel situations
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum job requirements:

  • Five years Electronic Services experience.
  • Five years General Ledger/Accounting experience.
  • Two years Supervisory experience.

Collections Representative

NW Priority Credit Union currently have a full-time Collections Representative position available for our Main Office.

Working hours: Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 5:30pm
Location: 12630 SE Division St., Portland, OR 97236

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Administers the collection of credit union accounts 10 to 59 days more delinquent in payment.

Essential Functions

  • Contacts delinquent accounts by sending pre-generated notices at 16 days delinquent and calling members by phone. Records contacts and sets follow-up date in the computer to review account activity. Works from monthly delinquency report.
  • Ascertains from member contacts the reason for the delinquency and assists the member in developing plans to bring the account to a current status.
  • Discusses options with members such as skip a payment or loan modifications.  Mails necessary applications or documents to members.
  • Prepares and processes Small Claims Court documents. Acts as credit union liaison with process server. Acts as credit union representative at Small Claims Court proceedings. Files for default judgments and monitors judgments for payment or to renew before expiration.
  • Responsible for communicating with Collections Specialist about accounts under 60 days delinquent that are cause for elevated concern, such as bankruptcy accounts and skip tracing accounts.
  • Respond to impound notices and required follow up.
  • Filing of claims for reimbursement of repossession costs.
  • Process incoming IRS Levies and garnishments.
  • Maintains filing for department.

Minimum job requirements:  Two years Collection experience preferred

Checking/IRA Specialist

We currently have a full-time Checking/IRA Specialist position available for our Main Office at 12630 SE Division St., Portland, OR 97236.
Working hours: Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 5:30pm

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates checking account processing. Verifies computer report each morning. Pays or returns checks, as necessary, making the appropriate data entries into the computer. Sends notices or receipts to members. Makes necessary general ledger entries and ensures that entries balance. Builds return file and sends to Corporate each day and reverses or charges fees, as required.
  • Acts a liaison with Catalyst and Deluxe check printers. Processes stop payment orders and check copy orders. Monitors overdraft activity. Makes appropriate data entries on members accounts. Compiles and maintains fraud and forgery files. Process forgery claims with bonding company.
  • Administers IRA program which includes opening/closing IRA accounts, handling transfers and rollovers.  Monitors all transactions processed on IRA accounts for accuracy and complete documentation.  Provides monthly required minimum distributions.  Handles deceased IRA accounts, charges and sends notice of annual fees.  Provides assistance to both members and staff with IRA questions or problems.  Maintains IRA files.
  • Opens and closes term shares by completing necessary documents and entering data into computer.  Sends maturity notices and follows member instructions regarding disposition of matured term shares.  Answers member and staff questions regarding term shares.  Maintains term share information in member files.  Responsible for ensuring proper disclosures are given/mailed to member for renewals, maturity notices and new term shares.
  • Assists members with the balancing of their accounts. Assists members and staff with electronic service/online banking questions or problems.
  • Maintains FiServ and Reliance systems with correct address, name and card status including reissues.
  • Mails out Term Share renewal notices.
  • Assists with payroll change changes or stop payment forms, verifying completion and accuracy. Makes necessary data changes.
  • Provides backup to department as needed.
  • Process and verify wire transfers through Fedline. Makes appropriate entries to members accounts and general ledger.
  • Answers routine member inquiries regarding balance, status and account history. Processes telephone transfers for members.
  • Takes lost or stolen card information and completes and processes necessary forms and reports.
  • Provides assistance to main office and branch staff with inquiries on accounts and takes lost or stolen card information.
  • Assist with card reissues and compromised cards as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
  • Verifies check orders for accuracy.
  • Verifies all VISA, Debit/ATM card orders for accuracy.
  • Verifies closure request to make sure all cards are blocked.
  • Process member check copy requests.
  • Verifies all payroll and ACH start, change, stop payment forms for completion and accuracy. Makes necessary data changes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful completion of high school math and grammar courses in order to compute adjustments accurately, and to communicate effectively with members and staff.
  • A minimum of one year teller experience required and minimum one year checking account/IRA or electronic service experience required.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills required to resolve member and staff questions or problems.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion and maintain confidentiality in dealing with the membership and staff.
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary for dealing with members, staff, management and providers effectively.
  • Must maintain a high degree of accuracy in handling computer operations and entering data into the computer.
  • Must be able to analyze situations, weigh alternatives and make independent decisions.
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.

Proficient on 10 key adding machine and computer keyboard.


Milwaukie Branch Loan Officer/Member Service Representative

NW Priority Credit Union is seeking a positive and professional individual to service our members while promoting our financial products and services. The Branch Loan Officer / Member Service Representative position is a key role at NWPCU, your performance is critical to our overall success of the credit union. You will join a team of dynamic and outgoing employees who strive to provide superior service and administer precise transactions and loans, while complying with policies, procedures and regulatory financial requirements.

Working hours: Monday - Friday 8:45am to 5:45pm
Location: 18821 SE McLoughlin Blvd, Milwaukie, OR 97267

  • Performs monetary transactions (Deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments)Verifies negotiable items and member identification
  • Maintains and balances assigned cash drawer daily
  • Recognizes members’ needs to proactively open, maintain and update all accounts
  • Process consumer loans and refer other products such as investment services

This position requires a diploma/GED and reliable employment history of two years processing consumer loans OR five years teller required. Ability to be certified by NMLS required. Computer basics and phone etiquette, along with excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
